John LoPorto, President and CEO

Mr. LoPorto has over 20 years experience in senior executive management positions in the technology industry.  Most recently he was CEO of Breakthrough Systems, Inc., a provider of embedded software to the data storage, avionics, telecommunications and defense industries.  Mr. LoPorto was previously Vice President of Business Development for Storage Technology Corporation (STK).  Mr. LoPorto has previously held various senior executive sales and marketing positions at EMC and Sun Microsystems and was also an early stage key executive in a number of successful startup organizations including Veritas Software which was acquired by Symantec for over $13B and Logicraft, which was the first company to earn a position on the prestigious Inc 500 list for three consecutive years.

Mr. LoPorto holds an engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and completed graduate business studies at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Steven Berens, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer

Mr. Berens is a skilled industry executive that brings more than 20 years of experience in strategy, marketing, sales and engineering to all his endeavors. Most recently he served as President & CEO of Privacy Networks. He has demonstrated the ability to deliver results for innovative companies looking to address customer requirements in new, emerging and mature markets. Mr. Berens’ solid industry relationships, strategic insight and creativity have led to successful market launches that focus on anticipating market needs and bringing timely solutions. During his career, Mr. Berens has held key management positions in high technology start-ups and Fortune 500 companies including IBM, Benchmark Storage Innovations and Privacy Networks.

Mr. Berens holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona and an MBA from the University of Southern California.

Rick Bernheim, Vice President Engineering and Operations

Mr. Bernheim has over 30 years experience leading high-tech organizations.  Most recently he was Vice President of Research and Development for JDSU Test and Measurement.  His previous experience includes leadership roles at SmartSynch, Harris Communications, WavTrace, ComStream, France Telecom, GE, RCA, Cylix, Transworld, and Phillips Instruments, in positions that include chief operating officer, general manager, vice president of business development, chief technology officer, and vice president of engineering, leading multi-country organizations.  Mr. Bernheim’s career, spanning start-up to Fortune 100 companies, has proven his success of obtaining consistent, measurable achievements in strategic planning, revenue and profit growth, market capture, and innovative high-tech product creation, and he has helped lead five venture funded / rapid growth technology companies to achieve liquidity events.

Mr. Bernheim holds an Electrical Engineering degree from Christian Brother University and is the author of two patents.

Dr. Stan McClellan, Chief Technology Officer

Dr. McClellan most recently held the position of Chief Architect – Systems & Solutions at ZNYX Networks.  In this capacity, he was responsible for the architectural definition of next-generation communication systems, including in-depth technical requirement gathering and business negotiation with top-tier customers & suppliers on a worldwide basis.

Prior to ZNYX, Dr. McClellan held distinguished positions in academic, computer, telecom, and aerospace industries. He has served as chief architect, principal investigator, or lead engineer for several distributed real-time systems, including the Digital Terrain System of the AFTI/F-16 fighter aircraft, real-time 3D flight simulation systems based on real-imagery reconnaissance data, robotic imaging appliances for remote intra-surgical consultation, the regional implementation of Internet2, and production rollout of telecom networks and systems conforming with industry standards (3GPP/2, ATCA, etc).

Ted Niemann, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Niemann has more than fifteen years of experience in finance and accounting. Most recently, Mr. Niemann was CFO of Privacy Networks an enterprise software company specializing in compliance solutions. Prior to that Mr. Niemann was CFO for Chaparral Network Storage, a data storage company and previously to that was an accounting manager for publicly held Hach Company. Mr. Niemann holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Chadron State College and a MBA from Regis University and holds a CPA certificate.
